R & R - 26th to 30th April

Well, it has been really nice to stay put for a few days and relax. Edna has been a great hostess and we have learned our way around the local area. There have been opportunities to swim in the pool here at Edna’s condo (the weather is starting to warm up here) and we have enjoyed some great meals at local restaurants. And a couple of adult beverages.

Among the local sights we have seen is the Bay Pines Veterans’ Hospital. My father worked there for awhile and spoke of it as a place he liked working. It is a beautiful collection of old building with some newer, shinier ones too. The grounds are like a huge park. It is lovely. Nobody wants to end up in hospital, but its about the nicest hospital I’ve ever seen.

Edna’s son, Gary and his wife, Norma came to visit from Ohio. They had planned it awhile and our visits coincided. Now Edna is going back to Ohio with them for awhile. Her sister and brother-in-law and other son also live there. We’ll see them again when we reach Ohio in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, we have the key to her condo and we still have a couple of more things to see in Florida. Stay tuned…
